A Thriving Place Therapists
Marian Anderson, LMSW
Clinical Therapist
My specialties include trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, depression, and anxiety. I am also passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, Women’s issues, and those who struggle with body image. As a queer black woman in a larger body I understand that simply existing in a society that has marginalized you can be a trauma in and of itself. I’m here to guide you on your journey to healing.
My approach to therapy is a combination of relaxed and structured. We will create a treatment plan based on your goals which will guide our sessions. During each session we will work towards your goals while leaving flexibility to discuss current issues. I also provide my clients with tasks between sessions to build on the skills introduced in session.
I know how scary the first steps can be towards addressing your mental health. Even if you choose not to work with me I want you to know I’m proud of you for getting this far. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, and congratulations on taking an important step towards healing!
